Our Art of the City Scholarship seeks to encourage and empower artists of all disciplines to submit an original piece of art around the year's chosen theme.

We are proud to offer artists of the graduating classes of Semiahmoo Secondary and Earl Marriott Secondary five Gold scholarships in the amount of $1,000 & ten Silver scholarships in the amount of $500.

We are excited to announce our 2023 Art of the City Scholarship theme: HOPE.

A progression from the 2022 theme UNITY, we are eagerly anticipating the interpretation of HOPE through original art pieces in whichever medium students choose.

We’re proud to share we’re entering our second year of offering our Art of the City Scholarship with the opportunity to expand the program to include both Semiahmoo Secondary and Earl Marriott Secondary!

We are so proud to have launched our Art of the City Scholarship in 2022. For our premiering year's theme, we chose: UNITY.

From fashion to film, and everything in between, each submission was an incredible journey as Semiahmoo Secondary's students explored, deconstructed and demonstrated the concept of UNITY and what it means to them.

We are incredibly grateful for every submission received in our inaugural year and we couldn't be more proud of our fellow creatives.

2022 ARTIST FEATURES

Through incredible works of art, our 2022 creatives introspected and challenged the notions of what UNITY means to them. For their trust and confidence in sharing their pieces, we are so grateful.

We are excited to launch the second annual Art of the City Scholarship!

HOPE was chosen as the 2023 theme. We look forward to experiencing our fellow creatives' interpretations of HOPE: whether in its abstract form, in its pursuit, absence, or very existence.

HOPE - a means to propel, compel, anchor. Show us your interpretations: define it, deconstruct it, rebel against it.
